Case Study: All Things Media - Liberty Science Center
Challenge: "How might we increase teen visits to and engagement with the Liberty Science Center?”
The Liberty Science Center appeals primarily to a younger demographic, ages 5-12. The Science Center would like to expand its appeal to the teen age demographic.
Solution
All Things Media, a digital media firm, partnered with the Ramsey Design Lab to tackle this “challenge” for the Liberty Science Center, a nationally-renown science and technology museum. Using the Stanford University d. school design thinking methodology, the Ramsey Design Team, collaborating with ATM's design and technology teams, developed innovative technologies and other strategic solutions that could be implemented at the Liberty Science Center to appeal to Gen Z. Human centered research and innovative design leveraged numerous innovative exhibition experiences powered by technologies including virtual reality, app development, 3D projection technology, gesture control and video production.
Exhibition experiences, included Miracle Muscles Advanced Technology Training Center, Igloo Vision – Virtual Simulation Chamber, IMAX Theater Virtual Exhibit, and STEM Experiences co-sponsored by Universities and linked directly to the Common Application.
Miracle Muscles Advanced Technology Training Center
Individual athletes and/or athletic teams participate in a training circuit supported by virtual and AI technologies that help to emulate competition, foster skill development, and measure progress. The development of skills is linked to an education program that immerses the student athlete in the scientific knowledge base and current research through AR technology. A gaming component engages the student athlete in a competition displayed on the leader board, with access through the app, based on the performance of celebrity college and professional athletes.
